With ANTESTERIA, his installation at Museo Nivola, Peter Halley created his own contemporary Scrovegni Chapel: conceptual and decorative, critically reflective and spectacular, it immersed the visitor in the Dionysian atmosphere of a Mediterranean world filtered through twentieth-century Modernism and bathed in an artificial, psychedelic light.
