It is the complete collection of shots that the well-known photographer Carlo Bavagnoli, sent by the famous American magazine Life, took in Orani in March 1958, on the works that will mark the entire research of the artist Costantino Nivola. Works that have become, thanks also to this photographic documentation, milestones in the history of international art. Their great interest is in showing the making of Nivola’s work in the subsequent phases: from preparation to the finished work, focusing, in admirable frames, on the realization of the graffiti on the facade of Nostra Signora d’Itria, and then on the innovative exhibition of sculptures on the streets of the town, on the poetic composure of the decoration for the family burial, on the affectionate repeated contact with the people of Orani.
