Born in 1983, Andrea Casciu has been graduated in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari. He currently lives and works in Bologna.

Andrea Casciu studies the relationship of Man with his own image, choosing the self-portrait as a starting point, from which a twofold reflection arises: on the one hand there is the artist’s desire to enter into the intimacy of people, on the other everyone of us can identify and perceive their own self in the iconic faces that the artist paints.

The variations of Andrea’s face that appear in the streets lead us to consider his murals as if they were mirrors and to confront ourselves not only with our reflection, but also with that of a planetary, shared and enlarged ego. A subversion of everyday life faced in an ironic way following the fine line that separates the individual from the multitude.
